Terms of Service
Last updated: June 15, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Speechdash ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may change these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on our website. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility
The Service is available only to individuals and organizations that can form legally binding contracts under applicable law. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and not barred from using the Service under applicable law. The Service is not intended for children under 13. If you accept these Terms on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company.
3. Description of Service
Speechdash is a service that turns imported documents (PDF, web pages, text) into audio you can listen to, edit, and export. We may modify or discontinue features at any time.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- • Provide accurate information when creating an account
- • Keep your account credentials secure and notify us of unauthorized use
- • Import and use only content you have the right to use
- • Maintain your own backups; we do not guarantee recovery of lost content
- • Not use the Service for spam, scams, malware, or other abusive purposes
- • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
5. Your Documents
Documents in your library are private to your account unless you choose to share them outside Speechdash. You are responsible for the content you import, edit, export, or share. Speechdash does not publish your documents to the public internet as part of the Service.
6. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Service to import, generate, store, or distribute content that is illegal or harmful, including but not limited to:
- • Illegal content or content promoting illegal activities
- • Malware, phishing, scams, or attempts to gain unauthorized access
- • Content that incites violence, hatred, or harassment
- • Sexually exploitative material involving minors or non-consensual content
- • Content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights
- • Any content intended to deceive, harm, or endanger others
This list is not exhaustive. We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove content, or block access when we believe you violated these Terms or applicable law.
7. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of content you import or create. By using the Service, you grant Speechdash a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, process, reproduce, and transmit your content only as necessary to provide the Service and enforce these Terms. Speechdash's software, branding, and website content remain our property or that of our licensors.
8. Accounts, Security, and Data
You are responsible for all activity under your account. You may sign in with email and password and, where available, Google OAuth. We use service providers that may process data outside your country. By using the Service, you consent to such processing. We use commercially reasonable efforts to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access and are not liable for downtime, maintenance, or events beyond our reasonable control.
9. Plans, Credits, and Billing
Speechdash offers Free, Unlimited, and reduced Student pricing, plus optional credit packs. Paid plans and packs are billed through our payment provider (currently Stripe). Prices, quotas, and credit allowances are shown at checkout and on our pricing page and may change for new purchases. Taxes may apply depending on your location.
- • Included monthly credits reset each calendar month and do not roll over
- • Purchased credit packs do not expire while your account remains active
- • Eco playback is included on all plans and does not consume credits
- • Cloud playback, Ask questions, PDF import billing, and audio export may consume credits or incur charges as described in the product
- • By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel
- • Failed payments may suspend paid features
- • Plan changes and billing interval switches may be prorated by our payment provider according to its rules
10. Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel a paid subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless mandatory consumer law requires otherwise. Paid features remain available until that period ends, then your account reverts to Free plan limits.
- • All subscription fees and credit pack purchases are final and non-refundable, except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise
- • Canceling stops future billing but does not refund the current or any past billing period
- • We do not provide partial refunds for unused time, unused credits, downgrades, or unused features
- • Contact us before filing a bank chargeback; abusive chargebacks may lead to suspension or termination
EU/EEA consumers: where law gives you a withdrawal right for digital services, you may lose that right once you start using paid features at your request, as permitted by law.
11. AI, Audio, and Service Limitations
Ask questions responses, summaries, language detection, and speech output are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purpose. You should verify important information yourself. Speechdash is not a substitute for professional, medical, legal, or financial advice.
12. Referrals and Promotions
Referral credits, social share rewards, and student discounts are offered at our discretion and may include limits, review steps, or eligibility requirements. We may modify or end promotions, and we may revoke rewards obtained through fraud, duplicate accounts, or Terms violations.
13. Spam, Abuse, and Enforcement
We do not tolerate spam, automated abuse, credential sharing intended to evade limits, or attempts to disrupt the Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove content, or block access without prior notice when we believe you violated these Terms, applicable law, or our policies, or to protect the platform and other users. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI OR SPEECH OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE. NO ADVICE FROM OUR SUPPORT TEAM CREATES A WARRANTY.
15. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SPEECHDASH AND ITS SUPPLIERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO SPEECHDASH FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100. ANY CLAIM MUST BE BROUGHT WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR AFTER IT ARISES. THESE LIMITS APPLY EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Speechdash and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any third-party right.
17. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
18. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply where required. Courts in Paris, France have exclusive jurisdiction for business users and where permitted for consumers; consumers in the EU may also bring claims in their country of residence where law allows.
